Community Regarding Frontal or Temporal Lobe Brain Injury

Hello all,

There wasn't a community geared toward being supportive of those affected by frontal or temporal lobe brain injury, so I recently created one.

Here is a synopsis of the community:
WHO is this community for? People affected by frontal or temporal lobe traumatic brain injury (tbi) in one or more of the following ways: has a frontal or temporal tbi, interact with someone who has that, relevant medical professionals, students, and those simply interested in making a positive difference in the lives of those affected by that.
WHAT are this community's goals? Bringing individuals together to communicate with each other, discuss relevant topics, and share resources, support, and inspiration.

The community is located at . I look forward to seeing you there. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a note.

Kind regards,

Piano Player on Hard setting

I'm able to take on almost all of the training games in Brain Age 2 on the "Hard" level setting, but Piano Player on hard mode consistently bombs my score average. Is there anyone else on here who's encountered this and has some tips? If you do, please share them here. Thanks!

New maintainer

Hi all,

I'm seiryuuchan the new maintainer for this community.

I thought I would ask you all how many of you have Brain Age 2, and what's your favorite game?
Mine is Virus Buster - I know it's not a training game but it's so addictive!

Hands up, who's still around!

I'm looking forward to seeing your responses ^^

This Community

Anyone want to take over maintainership of this community? I don't spend a whole lot of time on LJ anymore and am trying to pare down the list of communities that I maintain.

People who apply must maintain (or have maintained) a community.

If nobody steps up by the end of the week, I'm deleting the community.

Just Joined As Well

I've just joined up as well. I was reading the post before mine and it made me glad to know that I'm not the only one who just totally loses count in the third stage of Head Count. I only just unlocked the Hard version where people not only go in and out, they come flying in and out of the chimney! I'm terrible at it.

I'm 25 years old, managed to get a brain age of 23 the other day! Hoorah! I started out with a brain age of 64! ^^;; I like to blame that starting age on the fact that I was tired?

I'd love to hear which games people like best and any tips/strategies you can offer!

Brain Age could ward off Alzheimer's

COMPUTER games in the hands of the elderly are shaping up as the latest weapons in the war against Alzheimer's.

Nintendo's Dr Kawashima's Brain Training game will hit the shelves in Australia on June 15 and has already created a stir among experts, who say cognitive stimulation could reduce the risk of Alzheimer's.

Neurosurgeons - who have long recommended patients knit, do crosswords, play chess or even learn a foreign language - are enthusiastic about the game.

"There is a sound scientific basis for this ... There is increasing evidence that keeping your mind active does seem to be a prevention for progressing towards Alzheimer's."

Nintendo will give $1 from each copy of Brain Training sold to Alzheimer's Australia.

no one's got it all

I love Brain Age!

Hello! I'm new, and the third member to join this community! hehe. Hopefully as the game gains popularity so will the community, right? :o)

I bought Brain Age on Saturday, and I'm hooked. I started with a brain age of 48, and I've already brought it down to 25. I'm 22 in real life.

I just unlocked head count yesterday, and I thought it was cool at first. That is, until it went to the third round! I hate it when it has people entering and leaving the house at the same time. I almost always lose track right away. Any strategies for keeping track when that happens?

As far as sudoku is concerned, my fastest time is 14:43. Today I completed my first puzzle without notification, and it took me 48:13! Oh well, I'm proud of myself for getting it done anyway!

Hi, I'm Kelly. I started this community because I couldn't find any communities dedicated solely to the game.

I've been playing for about six days. I've always been the type of person to enjoy math and logic problems, and other learning types of games, which is why I enjoy Brain Age so much.

I've only missed one day of training, and each of the other days I've done all the training exercises so I earned my supersized stamp.

Here are my current high scores:

Brain Age: 46 (18 years older than I am!)

Calc. x20: 20.56 sec.
Calc. x100: 2 min. 51 sec.
Reading Aloud: 5.5 syllables/sec.
Low to High: 37 points
Syllable Count: 47 sec.
Head Count: 4/5

[edited to add:]
Stroop Test: 1 min 31 sec.
Connect Maze: 1 min. 6 sec.
Number Cruncher: 3 min. 27 sec.

Welcome to brain_age!

Welcome! Please read the rules before joining and posting!
